The Reis MMA method is based on Chief Instructor Tomas Reis' 35 years of traditional martial arts training in JuJitsu (Japanese & Brazilian), Karate-Do (Shotokan & Isshinryu), Kenpo, Kajukenbo, Aikido, Kyushu-Jitsu and Tai Chi/Chi Gung. This is combined with Master Reis' 6 years with the USAF EST teams and 11 years as a California Police Officer with SWAT and gang unit duties. In 2008, the Reis-Ryu Aiki-Kempo Mixed Martial Arts Method was recognized by the International Combat Martial Arts Association as a combat martial science training system. In 2009 Master Reis was inducted into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame. This training system combined with Master Reis' "real world" experience creates a proficient mixed martial art or MMA that can be used on the street or modified for the sport side of MMA. In the spirit of Budo (martial way) and Bushido (the way of the warrior), we wish you health, harmony and an indomitable spirit on your path to finding a better you through martial science.
