Belt Graduation & Achievement Awards Ceremony:
Reis Extreme Mixed Martial Arts had it's Beginner level belt testing in our MMA & Aikido
programs during the week of February 15th. Graduation was held on Saturday February
20th at 4:00 PM with family, friends and fellow students in attendance. The following
students were promoted up: Andrea Yantzer and Charles Cheeks III to Yellow Belt. We also
presented the first ever Achievement Awards to those students who have been training with
us for annually for 1 & 2 years. The following students were present and received these
awards: Catherine Miller and Ryan Caya (1 year Achievement), Matthew & Kevin Strege (1
and 2 year achievements). Not present were: Jason Rogalla (1 & 2 year achievements),
Christopher Runge and Lee Frohlich (1 year achievements). Congratulations to everyone on
an excellent job.
Women's Self Defense Seminar
On Saturday February 6th, from 3 PM to 5 PM, Reis Extreme Mixed Martial Arts hosted it's
first Women's Self Defense seminar for 2010. With nearly 30 participants, the seminar was
very well received by all. If you missed this one, keep checking back to see when our next
one will be scheduled.
Derek Stewart Sensei Seminar
On Saturday February 6th, from 10 AM to 1 PM, Reis Extreme Mixed Martial Arts hosted
another in the series of Derek Stewart Sensei 10th Planet Omaha in house seminar.
Everyone had a great time training and as usual, Derek Stewart's knowledge of JiuJitsu was
invaluable, especially for those students preparing for the March 2010 NAGA tournament in
Denver.
Boy Scouts of America Seminar
On Sunday January 31st, Reis Extreme Mixed Martial Arts hosted the Boy Scouts of
America seminar for 20 members of the local troop and their family & guests. The 2 hour
seminar went by quick but everyone enjoyed the training. The highlight was when each
participants earned their Self-Defense Excellence patch for completing a 6 technique test at
the end of training. Thank you to all who participated and helped.
